Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre

This entire series, which showed on Showtime in the '80s, just got released on DVD. This was an incredible series, with some amazing (and sometimes hilarious) casting. My favorite one was "Rapunzel" with Shelley Duvall and Jeff Bridges.

Does anyone else remember this series? Which one was your favorite?

I remember that it was pretty good. I only saw it a handful of times. I can't remember any epsidoes spefically. Damn, that's out on DVD! They are just going to put damn near everything on DVD aren't they?

No, it's great and gives hope for less obscure shows from back in the day. I recently heard that the original "He Man" might get it's DVD release soon! I looked it up on "Fearie Tales" on Amazon. There are 26 invidual DVDs?

I remember when these first aired on Showtime. I was in 7th grade or so, and loved them right from the start. Shelley Duvall has always been a Hollywood oddball, but she sure found her niche with these!

Great series. I remember "Aladdin" was directed by Tim Burton.

Or am I remembering too much? hmm

No, that's right. I remember Mick Jagger as the Emporer in "The Emporer's New Clothes" and of course, Jennifer Beals as "Cinderella" and Susan Sarandon as Beauty in "Beauty and the Beast."
There's was some GREAT casting in this show!! I LIVED for it as a kid!
