Belgium's new Sex Ed campaign (NSFW??)

So for the last few years the Belgium government has been launching Sex Ed campagnes to promote communication between partners. The previous campagne had the slogan: First Blablabla, Then Boomboomboom. The new campagne generated even in 'liberal' Belgium quite some controversy because of the full frontal nudity, the big posters and the explicit television ads (one featuring a deaf mute couple with the line "If they can talk about it, why can't you").

So, do you think these kind of campaigns work, should the government be involved in them, is the content acceptable for all audiences and would this be possible where you live?

To give you an idea, here are some of the posters with their slogans:

And two ads targeting the gay community:

Kissing, licking, biting, sucking. Your mouth can also be used for talking.

isadora

I think it's allright. It is very explicit, but it's aimed at teenagers and this way is probably the most effective way to reach them. It just shouldn't be aired on tv in prime time.

What do you think of it SpcMs?

I am an idiot. The first thing that came to my mind was, "Oh, that's how they do it!"

There is no way in hell that would go over in America! It is a bit graphic for me and we are prudes. Most of us, don't raise our children to understand such things. I know damn we my son would be confused. He is a bit slow on the up take and would not get it at all. My nephews would just be too silly about it to get the message. I think it would work for adults though. A lot of newer magazines could handle the print adds. TV=Never.

I think the pictures are beautiful. Explicit yes, but not obscene. Simply beautiful pictures, nothing wrong with them.

I totally agree.

Even if young children see this, all that will happen is asking their parents why those two people are lying on top of each other, which will only be embarrassing for mommy and daddy to explain (which I hope they don't actually do wink). Either way, infants have no comprehension of naked people. When I was that young, I just saw a naked person, but that was it. Children that young just don't understand (yet biggrin).

As for the target audience: ten years ago, people were shocked when they saw even a hint of a naked woman. Nowadays, you can see naked people (and sometimes even more) all the time, even in commercials and video clips. I can't imagine someone being shocked when seeing these images (except maybe in the USofA -> cfr. Janet Jackson's 'Nipplegate'; I mean, jeesh, what useless commotion!!).
It's like MarieLouise says. The images are indeed a bit explicit, but never obscene. They catch a viewer's attention, and makes them talk about the campaign. And when people talk about the campaign, it's likely they will also talk about it's subject, which is exactly what the Belgian government intended.
