Have You Ever Received A Speeding Ticket?

If so, tell us how many. I admit that I tend to have a lead foot, and that I tend to drive too fast. giggle Just wondering if anybody else is guilty of this.

OMG - I just did a search for "speeding tickets" on the web, and they have some stuff on there about contesting a speeding ticket. lol I thought that once you got a ticket you were stuck with paying for it. I guess maybe that's not the case. hmm
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

No speeding tickets, got pulled over once for driving with only my fog lights on. Stopped at Whataburger after a club, trying to be polite and turned off my head lights. I knew I was going to forget to turn them back on. I didn't get a citation though. Cop was pretty cool.

Last one was about 3 years ago- it was for 48 in a 35 and $148.

I've also got one many years ago in Athens (GA) for doing 97 in a 55. It was $152 and I had to go to court which was a bitch because I lived about 5 hours from Athens.

I had one other but can't remember the details. It seems like I was doing around 60 in a 45 and it wasn't too bad.

BUT I don't speed ANYMORE!!! I traded in the sports car for a suv.
Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

No speeding tickets so far. I used to drive fast, but now I don't go much over the speed limit, or at least not by much, not enough to pull me over.

nod I'm learning to slow down too and to follow the speed limits. I can't afford the cost of a ticket anyway.

Yes- not to mention your insurace can (and will) go up!! I've got full coverage for about $37 a month and I don't want to screw that up!

I know someone who just got a ticket for 64 in a 35 and it was $405!!!!!

Yeah, me too. A cop once pulled me over for "tailgating", but he luckily did not give me a ticket. I was pissed, because I can't tell you how many times that I have had people tailgate me when I'm driving somewhere, but a cop does not pull THEM over. disbelief

True, as long as the city you live in has a good busline/subway system, you probably don't even need a car. smile

None, amazingly. I even avoided a ticket after getting caught going 63 in a 45 constuction zone. The cop just complimented me on my car and asked me to slow down a bit.

I've had one so far and three warnings redface It was originally for $150, but they reduced it to $50 in traffic court. woot! They took points off though pout, which is horrible, since I already had points taken off for a couple of wrecks. I don't know how long it takes to gain your points back.

omg run-ons redface

i've gotten away with a lot of warnings so far :keepingmyfingerscrossed:

in the small town where i work, the last cop who pulled me over was fired (obviously for another reason) a short while later... since then, i've been telling the guys "remember what happened to Pepper when he pulled me over! no no no! " that's worked for me so far! lol

It was nice that you were able to get the cost of the ticket reduced, but I hear you about getting points taken off your license. sigh
