(well, actually, i'm on broadway more than i'm on halsted, but those pics detail my walk to evil clown wreckas! )

It was a nice stroll down memory lane.

reckless records has been making me a very happy boy over the past few months. there's always a find to be had, usually for ridiculously cheep. and the staff is actually becoming less hideously evil!

my man wants to leave chicago but i don't want to leave permanently i don't think i could stand it. And after a while i don't think he would be able to stand it either. i live walking distance from the United Center and my in-laws live on Halsted in the new buildings where cabrini-green used to be. the buildings that are left are going to be torn down. my mother told me cabrini-green was what "goodtimes" and "cooly high" was based on.

ooh, which reckless? the wicker park one or the boystown one? i like both, but i live walking distance from the boystown location - they're a little chattier at the wicker park store, but i've uncovered MANY a treasure at the broadway store...and yeah, they'll give you some good money for your used stuff when you're in a bind. they've hooked me up on more than one occasion!

Hmmm "good times" WAS based on Cabrini...however the photos depicted in the intro I am pretty sure that those are the Robert Taylor Homes. I always thought that it depicted that area when I was growing up. Although Cabrini was more for "working class" poor like the Evans family.

Buildings still up huh? Those were supposed to be taked down a long time ago.
