The thing is, my son is 18, in college and he has only got away with paying £50 for his new glasses on Wednesday!! And he picked out designer frames, Hugo Boss, and with the type of prescription he has the actual lenses will have 2 b ground down otherwise the lenses will b about an inch thick!!! And thats all extra work, yet hes only got away with only paying £50!!shocked shocked

I didnt even pick out designer frames, if I did, I would dread 2 think how much I would have had 2 pay!!!shocked shocked

p0pRocks

always so negative

I really can't believe you can still be so negative about really unimportant things.

With everything thats happened with the tsumai, remembering the lost Jews yesterday and iraq does it really matter.

At least that £140 enables you to see, a blessing other people would give a lot more than £140 to regain.

sigh

comfort try to look on the bright side

When we arrive back over 2 the USA, we will b applying for cash assistance, foodstamps and FREE medical in order 2 help us get on our feet, untill we find work and even then depending on our wages, we will still get those!!

FREE medical care means FREE medical,FREE dental and FREE optical care!! Something this country is incapable of doing!! When we lived in Minnesota, my son was diagnosed with ADHD and yet they just couldnt get his meds right, so he spent 8 weeks as an in patient at the world famous Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, so they could analyse him 2 find out which treatment was best for him!! It cost the State of Minnesota $45,000 and they paid every red cent of it!! They even paid for his schooling so he wouldnt miss out, and where he stayed was like a 5 star Hotel, he had his own room, en suite bathroom, u name it!!!! They even paid for me for one nights stay at a Motel 8!!! This country couldnt do that!!!!!

This country will laugh if we suggest foodstamps, which are coupons the US government issue u with in order 2 buy food at grocery stores and at farmers markets and they are even accepted in some restaurants!! This country will even laugh if we suggest Food Banks, where u can go and get FREE food that has been donated by grocery stores and other food producers and even farmers!! And EVERYONE is entitled 2 get this FREE food!! Its better 2 give it away than 2 throw it away and waste it!! The only things u couldnt buy with foodstamps was household cleaning products, toiletries, cigarettes, alcohol and other non-food items!!

This country doesnt do anything like this and never will due 2 its greed!!!

I am not out 2 work the system!! But I think if the government offered u something for FREE I think anyone would b stupid 2 turn it down!!

When we first arrived in the USA in 1993, we lived in Blue Earth, Minnesota and we got 2 know a family, through my husbands family, there who were millionaires(they had their own house moving company - literally uprooting and moving whole houses on huge semis!!), and even they went down 2 the Food Bank!!! They were a very down 2 earth family and not at all ostentacious!!

To me its not a question of working the system!! To me its making use of something that distributes a precious commodity, like food, that would otherwise b thrown away which in my mind is a criminal act!!!

Do you actually listen to yourself?

All you have told me is that we need to spend a lot less time over hauling Iraq's system and a lot more over hauling OURS!

Now let me shut my mouth!

Heavenly

So, these free stuff that you're talking about?
I understand it's in unlimited quantity? or someone who really needs it will be left out because the people who can afford it, took it for free?

And umm...I don't believe that free, really means free. you either pay by taxes (which will get higher if more people take those 'free stuff') or by needing more donations to cover up for what the people who don't need it, took.

So...are you really needy? or just greedy?

So they were millionaires and they still went to the food bank, do you realise how pathetic that sounds. Your a waste of time, hurry up and go back to your freeloading life in the States.

Well, I am sorry I dont have the perfect supermodel figure for u!! That seems 2 b the problem in this country!! This country doesnt accept people for what they are!! If u havent got Kate Moss figures u are not accepted anywhere and U are not even given chances in the workforce, even if u have all the qualifications for the job u are going after!! They care more about how u look sitting behind a desk than if u can actually do the job, judging by seeing office women going 2 work in designer duds!! Over in the USA its more laid back(whenever I used 2 visit places like the Human services or other offices, I noticed that office workers, even males, in the summer wore shorts and t-shirts!! Over here they would b fired for dressing like that!!!!shocked) and yes, they look presentable, but they are not worried if what they are wearing is Gucci or Versace or not!! And they consider doing their job of far more importance which is why everything in the USA functions far more better than here!! People in the USA KNOW HOW 2 do their jobs!! Over here people KNOW HOW 2 dress for their jobs!! lol lol
