Favorite David Mamet Films

Damn, he's done a lot. Some I didn't even know were his:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000519/

GlenGarry Glen Ross, House of Games, and Vanya on 42nd Street are probably three of my favorite movies.

Oleanna is also really good.

I didn't know he wrote the screenplay for Hannibal. I wasn't crazy about that movie. Though I didn't hate it.

But he has so many great minor movies: The Spanish Prisoner, The Heist, The Winslow Boy, even Wag the Dog (which I also didn't know was him.)

I just added Ronin to the top of my NetFlix list. smile

I may have to get The Edge too. hmmm

Any other fans out there?

Mamet is a great, but he sure isn't Joel Silberg.

Silberg has an understanding of youth culture and the arts that dwarfs his peers. Silberg singlehandedly started genres that have often been imitated but never duplicated.
