Yesterday, on Monday there was a quick office meeting. It was announced that our office administrator would no longer be working for us. Another person in another office in another city who did the same job will be looking after our office. We asked when is her last day, the boss replied that her last day was Friday , we never knew.... not one of us. We were all in shock.

The boss told us that our contract are going to be renewed and our jobs are secure (secure my ass ).

I figure it's time to put out that trusty Resume and start job hunting before there are any other surprises. One woman I was talking to says that nothing surprises her anymore. Everyone in the office is on edge.

Yes, get yourself prepared for the worst. It may not happen, but at least you'll be ready for it.

Anyway, u can always live off the org. I've done so successfully for nearly a year. I do begging rounds, and have been confronted by many demons, but will soon retire to the quietude of one of the smaller forums for 7 years before attaining enlightenment and infinite posting privileges.

Good plan sending out your resume. They pulled the same crap at my job here a year ago. Now only one person from the old group still has a job. The rest were quietly "let go".

I would love to get made redundant. LOVE it.

I'd get a month's pay for every year I've worked there (8 years) and all my debts would get paid because I took out insurance on them all (in case of redundancy). It'd be like winning the lottery for me.

I'd take a month off, have a week on holiday, then come back home and get a temping job.
