Just got word someone I know shot himself. This is like the 3rd person I know thats committed suicied over the past several months.

I'm still shaking my head that there werent any warning signs. Usually when people bottom out like that, don't they kind of show it in some way?

One min you see someone out at the bars laughing and enjoying themselves, next min theyre on the news...

That's very bad news. A guy I knew drowned himself this summer. No one was expecting this. It makes you wonder about the social contacts. At least it makes me wonder. Looks like so many people can't find their place here. So sad.

Lots of strength to you and all the others that knew him.

Some people do show signs others do not. The important thing, though hard to grasp the reality of it sometimes; is to not rack your mind trying to find the 'what' , 'if', 'how', etc... I don't know what words can be said or should be said to help anyone get through this, but I'm sure there are a few people here you can talk to if you need an ear.
Sorry for your loss Tom. sad

Heavenly

Usually the ones who are certain of this path will not show sign, since they are no longer in search for help, nor want to be rescued.
The signs should usually come way before, when they still have a little hope left.

I'm really sorry to hear this. It hurts to hear that someone gave up on themselves. I know what it's like from a personal stand point. But i see how much suicide affects the people around you, and in the end, it's really not worth it at ALL. And it's a shame that around %30 percent(if i recall correctly..)or all teenage suicides are from gay youth. Not to say that your friend is gay or anything, but it's shit like this that breaks my heart. I hope you and everyone else that knew him can get through this.

Around two-thirds of all British teenage suicides are gay people.

I'm sorry for your loss, Tom.

I had a friend who last year committed suicide after some mean a-hole convinced him that he was too ugly to have a girlfriend and would never get married. He wasnt ugly at all...just had some minor quirks. sad

Sorry Tom...just know that once someone has decided this is what they want...well, as Heavenly stated...there are usually no signs and even when there are signs, it is very unlikely anyone would be able to stop them. I lost my husband this way (years ago) and though I tired many "intervention" ..none worked. I understand your confusion and sorrow...espicially when it comes to suicide...I wish you well and keep your head up. I am sure he knew you were a friend. hug

Man, I only wish people knew that no matter how bad it may seem then there is hope of things getting better, even though it feels like you're the only one.

I know this from experience-and I'm the last person who thought it could happen, but it can.

My best to the families and friends of anyone who has had this happen in their lives.

I hope no one is afraid to ask for help, no matter how hard it may seem.

It's a first step in a great direction.
