British Orgers...What does "Cor" mean. I just watched "Bend It Like Beckham", which was really good and the word cor or core came up. I hear it every so often. What does it mean? Is it like a word that indicates surprise because that what it seems to mean.

It's rather like a high society-'Woah!'. The word 'cor' is often associated with 'Carry On...' films and cheeky, chirpy Cockneys.

WTF is a cheeky, chirpy Cockney? Is that like a metrosexual? A Cockney is anyone from London itself but technically speaking it is someone born near enough to hear the bells of the Bow Church. Phrases that utilise 'Cor' include, 'Cor! What a lovely pair' and 'Cor Blimey Guvnor!'. I myself am not a Cockney but my Dad is.

Thanks everyone. So on the British verison of "Blossom" (which I'm sure they made and still plays to this day) did Joey always go "Cor"!
