Drinking Green Tea to Lose Weight: Has Anybody Tried It? And ever more importantly, does it work? I recently read that doctors and researchers are saying that drinking green tea helps a person to lose weight quicker. Has anybody here ever tried it, and if so, did it give you the results you were looking for? RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Smart dieting and adequate exercise, that's the way to go.

Yeah it works for me.
I pour it on everything I eat and it makes everything taste like shit so I don't eat it.

I'm firmly planted in denial

I am not needing to lose weight but I have heard of this but the thing I wonder about is, how many cups of green tea a day would a person have to drink to get the benefits of the tea?
I ask because I have often heard or read about certain teas and the healing or helpful benefits attributed to them but then, when I check into the claims in more detail, they always seem to suggest drinking like 6-8 (or more sometimes!) cups of the particular tea per day, and for me that's just not reasonable. I know there's no way I'd be able to keep up drinking so many cups of tea per day on an ongoing basis. I know this post wasn't very helpful. Good luck with your weight loss goals, psycho. I know you can - and will! - do it!

I don't have any specific stats to back it up, but ever since I started drinking it every day (about 6 months ago) I have noticed a slight weight loss, and I haven't been dieting in any way nor have I been going to the gym (bad me). I think it makes me less hungry or something. Either way, it's definitely good for you.

Here is a small summary of the benefits of green tea
http://www.japanesegreent...health.htm http://www.bodybuildingfo...xtract.htm I dont think there is an exact amount to drink, but I've read stories of people losing 5lbs within a month by drinking green tea a couple times a day. Initially I couldnt stand it, but got into green tea after reading about its anit-histamine properties. It provided temporary relief when my allergies got worse. Its great after a meal, but I usually drink several cups at work, the only thing is that it dehydrates . So I got to drink a lot of water in between. But like jerseykrs says, smart dieting and exercise is the way to go

Yeah, I tried it, but I substituted the tea for beer.
Didn't seem to work too well though When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.
