MOTORCYCLE RIDERS!

I had a motorcycle about 5 years ago. I really miss it and I am planning on gettnig another one. How many of you ride? What type of motorcycle do you recommend?

I used to own a SUZUKI RF 600R exactly like the one below:

I outgrew it. How much bigger should my next bike be?

I miss riding as well. My bike (Harley Sportster Hugger) went into storage in October and won't be out until it gets much warmer and quits raining. Of course, around here, that means sometime in July! lol
As for what kind of bike you should ride, I would say it depends on where you are going and what you can afford.

Last summer I rode from San Jose (San Francisco Bay Area) to Los Angeles on a Harley. I had a blast. My friend went with me. She owns a beautiful Harley. I had to rent one. I made the mistake of getting a Dyna LowRider which turned out to be pretty small. Well I did live the fantasy of riding on a beautiful Sunny day on the Sunset Strip. It was fucking awesome.

I thought I was going to be really tired. The seat was really comfortable, so no issues there. My fingers though, that's another story.

The Triumph Bonneville is an awesome bike! I just have to have something that allows my feet to touch the ground. lol And you are so right, Harleys do have a tendency to leak and require a lot more tinkering than a lot of bikes.

I love to ride but if you have been off bikes for a while be careful

My R6 road bike has more horses than my 750 race bike so don't just look at cc's as an indicator.
Have fun and watch out for Volvo's

When I rode to L.A. (800 miles round trip, 1,288kilometers) I hadn't been on a bike for 4 years. Yeah, I was stupid. But it was like riding a bicycle. I caught on and got comfortable.

I'm thinking about getting a Yamaha next...but I don't know.

This is my motorcycle:

But if I had the money, I'd go for a Harley. One of the smaller ones, that doesn't take 3 people to pick up if it falls. biggrin

My first bf collected Harleys. Old vintage ones, sleek, not the really stupid ones you see that look like UFO's.

Very nice H. Does the back rim affect you in anyway when it comes to gusty winds. I heard it does....but I don't know.

Well, when I first started riding, it was terrible. I almost couldn't control the bike. But I got used to it, and well, I ride slower these days lol

see I hae long legs and a higher center of gravity, the harleys are way to bulky for me, first time i rode a truimph I felt like I was at home lol, not uncomfortable and the weigh distrubution is right for me
