I'm a fan I've seem documentaries on Jack Johnson before. He knew how to live it large man (and deservedly so!), esp. considering the times around his era. Rezpec' Mr. Johnson sir "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

Damn! I forgot all about this. I am a boxing fan (do check out Million Dollar Baby!), but haven't followed anything in recent years. Johnson's is an interestnig story from what I've heard, and I regret having missed it. Hopefully it'll be replayed.

I saw the film last week and it was truely well done. He lived a truely eventful life in what was undoubtably the worst period to be an African-American during the 20 the century in the States. He ran his own show and didnt allow anyone to define him as a man. You gotta take your hat off to him. Its ironic that he ended up dying in a car accident while racing along the interstate, something that he loved to do.
