I do smile

When I am at work, I am usually doing several things at one time while on the phone. So this speaker really comes in handy biggrin

no, see, i'm talking about when you're at work and you put your phone on speaker to dial a number and then when you hear the phone ring you pick up the receiver. do you do that? STOP IT!!!

what, is the receiver so cumbersome and heavy that you can't just pick it up before you dial?? is it really that much of a commitment physically??? pick up the DAMN phone when you dial a number! DO IT! mad

Wait, does this rule apply when someone calls you? That's all I care about. I don't use speaker when I'm the caller.

NO! well, really, i hate speakerphones in general. they sound stupid and pretentious and you can never understand what people are saying, but sometimes they're a necessary evil.

i'm talking about when someone's lazy ass won't pick up a phone receiver to dial the phone, and everyone around them has to listen to "boop-boop-boop-BOOOOO...BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!"

nobody wants to hear that shit. nobody wants to hear it. nobody.

people sound like dorks on speakerphone. my imagination always goes wild when i'm in a phone conference at work. i always imagine the people i'm talking to are puppets, or cartoon characters from "superfriends".

i HATE that.

i also hate those people that put it on speaker, dial the number, wait till you pick up, then grab it off speaker, so it makes a horrible loud noise right in your ear even more!!!

you're not that freaking busy that you need to save time by not spending the extra 10 seconds waith the phone to your ear.

I think I've done it a time or two, but in general, I prefer to keep my conversations private. However TONS of people in my office do this routinely. Nearly everyone it seems.

That makes me INSANE...and you KNOW that the person doing it is just being a show-off hotshot. The people who do it probably spent hours practicing on their Fisher Price My First Corporate Whore Telephone. Why the hell do it in the first place!?
I'm glad you mentioned this.
OK...now I'm fired up. pissed

My bosses boss does this ALL the time. Every time I get a call from him I have to assume there are a gaggle of important managers listening to my every word. It used to be intimidating. Now I just find it annoying.

lol

I ALWAYS do this! nod

But, 1/2 the time I'm calling the county or Social Security or some other annoying system that has 87 phone options before being put on hold for 10-30 minutes.

So, I use the speaker phone to get thru the menu and get in queue. Then I can continue to work/chart/org until I actually get a person on line.

I don't do it but a good friend of mine, who is but 3 cubes away, does it all the time, and I hae to give her a hard time about it. I am not a fan of hearing somebody else's dial tone...over and over again. And now I see that endo does it as well?! no no no! At least I don't hear your dial tone.
