Just let her know that her second period is going to be HELL! And then everyperiod after that will be the usual crimson wave.

I remember When I first got mine I was 15 in 1991 (i was a late bloomer!) it lasted a day and a half and I was like "Wow this is nothing!" then the next month it lasted 8 days and I had the worst cramps and no energy and I passed out in the nurses office. I've never had a bad one like that since but ....anywho...aren't y'all glad you know my menstrual history??

I have this early memory of my mum tryin to explain to me what da hell was goin on...at dat point i hadn't yet learnt about da birds and beezz...so i thought that a baby was going to pop out of me (i used to think that a woman has a baby when the baby grows inside of her from when she is little and then when she grows up a bit she gives birth )yeah, i was freaked out!! So yeah...dont panic or she might think something is really wrongz!!!

it sounds like you have a great relationship with your daughter...

i don't know why but i can remember the exact date of mine! make sure you keep a discrete trash bin in the bathroom cabinet. and i totally agree with making yourself available to answer questions from the "guy" side... that would have been very helpful as a young woman
