what happend to the .org? ...i used to have sooooo much fun here, and now i'm bored like never before in my whole life, and only because of the org. I am disappointed, it only took me so long to realise how boring the org can be....where else can i go to meet prince fans?

I find most of the poeple here very entertaining and they have alot of creative energy.

I feel very much Thai, and I've been spending the last 5 years or so trying to be more in touch with my heritage, as my Dad largely repressed anything Thai in my household while I was growing up.

However, each time I visit Thailand, I'm referred to as a Farang becuase I have some American features to them. Also, every Sunday I attend a Buddhist Wat her in Tampa and they refer to me as a Farang.

It doesn't bother me much, but I do wish I could speak the language and didn't spend so many years in a void of it--you could say I'm playing catchup with my culture.

It's not some derrogatory word or racist statement though, as Thai's are very much enamored by roundeyes.

I found it odd too becuase I've heard my mom say it before and she never used it on me. But my first trip back to Thailand as an adult (1995) stunned me when they refferred to me as one. It was the equivalent, in my eyes, as black person calling a mixed (black and white) person "white guy"--He's not totally black, but certainly not white.

I don't have a hang up about it, but just found it kind of odd. I love my Thai bros and sisters and think they're some of the most open and gentle people in the world at times.
