no, pierogis are the little dough things with cheese in 'em, but i love those too. i think potato pancakes are called latkes, aren't they? no matter. i'll eat 'em all. lick

My dad was Hungarian and made the BEST potato pancakes. We'd eat them with garlic and sour cream drool

OMG...they were so awesome.

We just recently found out that my family has Hungarian in us! Someone was going through my grandmother's stuff (who passed away probably 15 years ago) and found something that said she was part Hungarian! smile

i bet they were amazing. yum!!!

when i lived in new york, there was a restaurant on 2nd avenue in the east village that specialized in eastern european food, and during winter i'd always load up on pierogis and potato pancakes. starch heaven! i haven't found anything as good in chicago, but every now and then i'll settle for the frozen stuff from the local grocery store. not nearly as good, but it does the trick in a pinch.

I think I ate too many pancakes as a kid....as well as cereal
and any other sweet, cakey, danishy type things I can't really
stomach any of it anymore ill

If you have to ask, it's more than worth it.

1sexymf	I like pancakes, especially the ones my mom makes or pancakes with banana walnut pancakes. I don't eat them very often, though too fattening.
