I couldn't sleep last night as the crack-dealers upstairs were making more noise than usual. They always leave the front and back doors in the lobby unlocked. Well, last night, the doors were banging because of the wind. I got up at about half past three and shut the doors. I then got to sleep at about four a.m. and had to get up at seven.

Well, I got up, had a cup of tea, vitamin pill, shower and cigarette, was just about to leave the house and took a good long look at myself in the mirror. I looked green. My eyes are bloodshot with huge black circles around them. I'm feeling a little frazzled.

So I phoned my boss but couldn't get through as it was engaged for ages. Instead, I sent him an email asking for an emergency holiday. As of five minutes ago, he hadn't replied, so I called him again.

Well, I've just spoken with him and he was so understanding, not mad at all and offered some advice.

I've just taken another look at the email I sent him and it's a bit demented.

It's not like I'm pulling a sicky because it's coming off my holiday entitlement but I still feel guilty.

demented e-mails are the best ones to send so long as you didn't call him a cunt

you should try and get some sleep

get some rest and let the guilt go

I always feel guilty when ic all out sick even if I really am. But, not enough to not use my sick days, though.
