I lived in Bed-Stuy (Bklyn) in the 70s. We used to get milk delivered to our door, AND our doctor made...get this....HOUSE CALLS!!! eek

I remember picnics with my mom and cousins at the park near the old Whittier Hotel on the banks of the Detroit River. My mom worked as a waitress at Hershel's Deli and they had these little green frog pastries (about the size of a cupcake)that were filled with whipped cream and had candy eyes. She would get a dozen of them for us and I was in pure bliss. Afterwards, we would play a big game of Mother May I or Connect Four or something. Ahhh... those were the days! biggrin
