Have you seen this? It's a Quicktime vid behind the scenes of "Lion..."
Same guys who did "Lord of the Rings."

i've been scared to see what they did with aslan...that, and i can't get the dang thing to play! mad does it look pretty good?

Oh yeah. I was skeptical as well, but (though they don't show Aslan) it looks awesome. The video is about the creatures (the minotaur is bad ASS!) and armor. Wish you could get it to play. It's a big file and takes a bit to load. You have trouble with other Quicktime vids?

My best recollection is that they do not show Aslan. But the creatures do look amazing, especially the minotaur! WETA, whom also did the creature effects for the Lord of the Rings movies, did the creatures for this one as well. My big fear with this movie is that they're going to try to make it into another LotR. They have some similarities, and I know CS Lewis and JRRRR Tolkein exchanged notes while writing these books, but I hope this movie is a work unto its own.

There are similarities, but I think the work they show for "Narnia" is a little removed from "Rings."
And why shouldn't it be like "Rings?" I was afraid of that one too, but it far exceeded my expectations. I wish Peter Jackson could have done the Star Wars prequels. biggrin

Since I'm getting horribly off topic, here's my last post on the topic of the movie. Anx, if you want, check here for stills from the featurette. The second page of images has shots of the minotaur.

I just finished Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds. He writes nice science fiction.

And now I am ready to tackle Palahniuk's Non-Fiction.

It took me a while. I bought this when I still lived in Paris over a year ago!
I did not understand why it was so tough to work through until I finally found out this is a sequel.

Doh.

Just kidding. (Although {2} is the best, most tasteful gay erotica mag I know.)

I'm really reading...

JESUS AGAINST CHRISTIANITY, by jack Nelson-Pallmeyer
BEYOND BELIEF, by Elaine Pagels
THE ESSENTIAL GAY MYSTICS, by Andrew Harvey
BLACK LIKE US: A CENTURY OF LGB AFRICAN AMERICAN FICTION, and
THE COLLECTED WRITINGS OF WALLACE THURMAN

I'm a literary slut. I can never commit to one book at a time.

I'm reading "Odd Thomas" by Dean Koontz.

Very entertaining.
I can't even tell you anything about the book or it ruins the fun.
But it is an awesome book--very creative.

I LOVE THAT BOOK

it made me cry though

RocknRollDave

I started reading The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time or whatever the f*ck it's called two days ago and finished it yesterday. Very quick book to read.

Very very good too, but I am probably the last person in the World to have read it so, forgive me for being so behind-the-times redface

Here, this is the one:

For anyone who hasn't read it, it is written as if it were narrated by a fifteen year old boy who has Asperger Syndrome ( like autism, I believe) It is seriously odd but very funny and touching at the same time.

How come they always made me read crap books at school? pout

My faves are 1984 and A Clockwork Orange (the film was bollocks though)
