...just started turning ugly for me.

On the way to the store, it was simply raining...but on the way back, the street turned literally to rivers. It took no time whatsoever for half the road to be a torrent...very freaky.

On my way home, I saw a woman try to make a right turn thru a flooded intersection...she didn't make it. Her car stalled out from the rush of rain water flooding her engine. I slowed down, then pulled over to see if she needed help...the water was rushing so fast, though, that I think they thought they'd be better off trying to drive thru it...big mistake.

The water started rushing faster, and flooded over the hood of her car...then splashed kind of violently up against her drivers side window...(there was a lady passenger in the car as well)...Another man in a pick-up pulled over, and we started yelling to them to see if they needed help...we could barely hear them over the rush of the water. So, we walked over to the passenger side, and helped them both out of the car...the lady driving was ok until she got to "dry" land, then she broke down crying...the other guy who stopped walked over to the driver's side, and got in the car to see if it would start up. Of course it didn't...afterwards, he yelled over to me and said he thought we could push the car backwards to the other side of the road, so I jumped into the water, which came past my knees (!!), and started pushing on the hood...

Thankfully, the car moved backwards rather easily once we both started pushing...however, the car was acting as a dam of sorts, and once the car started moving out of the flooded intersection, a wave of water up to my butt hit me, a literally swept me off my feet and down the street about 20 feet...I caught my balance and stood up, more embarrassed than scared. However, I was pretty much submerged up to my chest before I caught myself, and stood up dripping...and pissed..lol.

Took this when I got home...



I did think, tho, about the tsunami victims on my way home...how easily I got swept away with like three feet of water rushing at my body...I can't even imagine the experience those poor souls went thru, with 20-30 foot waves taking them away.. Video on TV doesn't do it justice...

Still love rain...but tonight it got a little ugly...
