AB you're not making any sense...you're saying lolly's posting is boring in one breathe (not cool) and then saying you won't offend if at all possible...she's a person and is online RIGHT NOW so she will read this and the words will sink in JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE

sad

I see. What I meant by all of that is that no matter what I think, bear in mind that my opinion doesn't mean very much.

Lolly, it wasn't meant as an insult--I tend to not mince words. I'm really not here to make enemy's. Just trying to have some fun.
If it's at your expense, I'll refrain from doing so in the future.

It was the protective friend in me saying all that AB...it's all good nod

giggle my own admission was it was boring and not my usual (pre messed up lolly post)

i don't take offence easy, i really don't. I just realised something that i wanted to share

i never really thought about how i could affect others online before, after all it is just a computer and i had always been very grounded and level but not every body is like that and when i was low i realised how much different it felt to see people being negative and critical of something i had no control over. We all come here for different reasons and if someone comes on here to say they are having a tough time and feel low why would someone feel inclined to say something even more negative ie kicking them when they are down.

we are all people going through the same crap, doing the same things i just decided i was going to NOT be negative on here (i don't think i was really negative to anyone in a serious sense anyway)

anyway i don't know how I can put it any differently other than....

like tisse said, there are people on the other side of the screen and you don't know whats going on in there lives or what motivates them, why not just treat them in the way we would want to be treated had the roles been reversed

oh and Natisse hug you are a cutie giggle

A while ago i posted a few really dull but honest and heart wrenching posts funny enough on general discussion.

I don't think anyone reading them would have thought i was not being serious the tone was infact very low, and yes probably was a cry for attention as i was feeling the lowest i had felt for a very very long time.

I read the posts and most were really kind and the authors had the time to try and make a really dark point in my life a little easier as i sat here with my kleenex and cried over the key board others on the other hand and there wasn't many decide that now would be a great time to be insensitive and critical.

this may only be a web site but there are people on the other end of the screen we can all get on our high horse and feel superior and think yeah it's only words but it's not only words i think the fact some people lack compassion shows a true reflection on them.

If in serious situations where people are hurting you can't say anything nice please keep it to yourself, even if you think it's not serious we all have different thresholds of pain.

the internet is a powerful medium never under estimate your effect on others
People get hurt on these kind of things all the time and i got hurt when i was at my lowest ebb, but thanks anyone who was mean spirited you taught me i NEVER want to be like that.

please be nice to each other (unless your friends and you both know it's in jest)

Is this about what I had to say?

I think we all need to take a step back sometimes and see this for what it is, just a website. And yet, there is something more, or we wouldn't come here. It's certainly not just for Prince. Some haven't stepped foot in the Prince: Music and More forum this millenium! smile

I think a balance is needed. I, for one, do care about people here, maybe more than I should. I think it is important to be aware that if you're kinda sensitive and given to being upset by people, don't post so personally on this website. If you have friends here you want to get help from, perhaps it's better to orgnote. If not, some threads do appear like cries for attention. Not that we don't all do that at some point in our lives, but just be aware of everything that comes with it. Not everyone will tell you what you want to hear, or try to ease your pain. For some it's an easy target. Threads don't mean anything, this site is just the backdrop. It's the people that matter, so when in need, maybe just orgnote those people you care about and trust.

I agree with Fauxie. Orgnotes are better. All my thread are indeed cries for attention, and he often likes to point that out--but it comes with the teritory.

I have a blast up in this muthafucka.

I wish, I wish that we could count on people, here and elsewhere, to be kind. But there's a reason you wouldn't go out on a streetcorner in your neighborhood and hand out flyers with something heartfelt on them and expect everybody to be warm/kind/sympathetic. . .and that is basically what posting here is like. It's a streetcorner, maybe in a community you hold dear, but it's still random people, and lots of people are bastards. shrug

Open your heart carefully.

And as most folks who have been here for a while know, I have personally learned this the hard way. wink hug

No, it's not like a bloody streetcorner. It's like a hotel. You meet people on holiday in hotels - fellow tourists - some of them are nice and some of them are cunts.

You might have a holiday romance or realise that you actually enjoy aqua-aerobics in the hotel pool: Flashing your flesh in front of a load of complete strangers.

We're tourists here and some of us like the hotel so much that we book in time and time and time again. Don't tell me that you've never got friendly with other people whilst on a vacation.

The Org - a vacation from the mundane.

But it's still full of cunts.
