If You Had a Time Machine That You Could Use to Go Back to Any Decade You Wished.... which decade would you choose and why?
I would definitely want to go back to the 80's, I miss that decade so damn much! Everything was so much better back then, I was twenty years younger than I am now, I didn't have to worry about my weight, finances, or finding a job. I always had a great time whereever I went, always had a date every weekend, etc. etc. Now that I'm older, I just have so many more pressures on me between trying to find a good job, paying the bills on time every month, having to diet to keep the weight down (which I didn't have to do when I was in my twenties, shoot, I could eat whatever I wanted and not gain a pound). It sucks getting older, and I would sooo love to go back to the 80's when I was a happier person. To the orgers who are in their 20's and younger, I give you this piece of advice: Enjoy your life while you're young, because once you get older, things just get harder. Also, time goes by so fast, that you'll wonder where it all went to. When I think back to the 80's and the things that I used to do, it's hard to believe that it's been that long. To me, it feels like it all happened just yesterday. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

yeah, going back would be nice.... but think about it, we are smarter now we know that the things that make a person is not the amount of money they have, what size clothes they wear, what kinda car they drive, or who is in the 'in' crowd.
my point is, yeah, back in the day was fun..... but i treasure the lessons i have learned and the amount of progress i have made in my life. my suggestion to you is to look at who you are now, and see what a beautiful person you are inside and OUT.. the past is memories... the future is wishes.... but today is TRUTH One of the best days of my life... http://prince.org/msg/100/291111

I'd go back to the early 900's just to look at earth before humanity fucked it up totally with so-called progression.

I could've written your post myself. I know exactly how you're feeling and where you're coming from. EXACTLY. And I think those same thoughts more often than I'd care to admit.
I'd go back to the 80s again, too, in a heartbeat. Though I had other problems back then and life was far from perfect, but when I compare my life and myself in the 80s to now I can't believe how good I had it then and didn't realize it or take advantage of it. I was healthier then, WAY healthier (I have sooooo many health and emotional issues nowadays, in my 30s, I basically feel like I am 90 already), I had more opportunities, more enthusiasm, less worries, more friends, more fun, less general fear, and life just seemed, well....more. More vibrant and more passionfilled and just so much happier. Life was just more fun for me then, mostly because I wasn't sick all the time and my health didn't prohibit me from doing things like it does now. And you hit the nail on the head about how quickly time goes by. I was thinking the other day about how it's almost my 20 year high school reunion and how fast 20 years have passed. The weird thing is, I don't feel 20 years older. Maybe this is bad to admit, but I still feel, in many ways, like that 17-18 years old girl I was then. Maybe that's just because, unlike so many of my peers, I'm not married with a career and kids and a home and all those other "adult trappings". I don't know. All that said, I also do realize how some aspects of life are better now vs. then, and I'm thankful for that/them. It's just harder some days to remember to focus on those positives and not yearn for simplier, healthier, more carefree times. Well, sorry to ramble. I just know how you're feeling. Please know you're not alone in how you're feeling, although I'm sorry you're feeling that way and I hope things start falling into place for you soon. again and much

You know, being young, you might think this thing is totally new, while to all the rest of us it is SO old. Boring.

I'd go back to 1770's because I feel (and have always felt) like I had lived in those days on some earlier life. The 18th century has always fascinated me a lot and I feel it closer to me than other decades.
I'm planning to make a real sack-back dress for myself but not right now, I need more time to sewing it than I have right now. I plan to sew the stays during this year but we shall see. Time flies like an arrow

Possibly the 90's--things where cool and fun back then. Stuff now is so fucked up. But more than likely I would want to be transported about 100 into the future. There aren't many past decades I'd want to live in, especially being that in most of them, I wouldn't be allowed to vote.
