The F train sucks. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

That's what I miss about living in NYC. Riding the subways was always lots of fun because everyday something new would happen. I used to take the F to school on the Lower East Side and that train had some characters on it. And I UptownDeb is right, the 2, along with the 4,5 and 6 trains seem to make some kind of humming noise when they leave the stations. The new trains they use are great so the humming noise makes the ride that much more fun for me when I come back home. In fact, I coming back to visit on Friday and I can't wait! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Not ALL of it; the wheels are amazingly hot, most of the time.

Exactly! You can never get bored with subway tales! btw, I think those trains make that sound pulling out of not into the station. So listen out! Nice avatar 2the9s! I wouldn't know where to begin to represent. I take the 1,9,2,3,7,L or A on any given day. Honorable mention to the No. 7--It takes me to Shea. And after what John Rockkker (baseball player) said, I felt that I just HAD to have a No. 7 t-shirt: Imagine having to take the [Number] 7 train to the ballpark, looking like you're [riding through] Beirut next to some kid with purple hair next to some queer with AIDS right next to some dude who just got out of jail for the fourth time right next to some 20-year-old mom with four kids. It's depressing." Biotch! [Edited 1/9/05 7:57am]

I wanted to punch John Rocker when he said all of that. All of those things he said is what makes riding the subway such a blast. I remember when I was there in July, I went to see Prince on 7/13 and I wore my Prince shirt for all to see. I got on the "1" going to MSG and this kid got on the train with his friends and he sat across from me and when he saw my shirt and he starting singing "Purple Rain, Purple Rain". I just laughed. When me and my friend left the concert, we took the "A" Train home and after we got on, a guy across from us asked me if we had just seen Prince and I told him about all what happened and we just had a good conversation about him until he and his friends got off at Columbus Circle. Stuff like that is great and that's why I love riding the subway there. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
