Got a question about updating my versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. I currently have the 1997 version of the aforementioned programs, but am looking to upgrade to 2003. My question is, do I have to save all of my Word and Excel documents onto diskettes before I upgrade to 2003, then take them off and put them back on once the upgrade is done? Or will the Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents automatically change over to 2003 version by themselves? If someone can give me some insight on this, I would appreciate it.

Okay. Here's what you will want to do: boot up your backup RAM and save it to your cache device (go to the motherboard and start pulling at shit until the screen lights up). Then reconfigure your firewall to allow random "pings." This will NOT damage your capacitor when you are ready to frontload. Then you will need to simultaneousy defragment your Windows XP drive and refilament the remainder of the sub folder programs.

2003 will install seemlessly (as seemless as Microsoft Bloatware can) over 97.

It will even install itself side-by-side if that's what you prefer, though it will update Mdac drivers if you're on an older O/S.

If it barfs at you about install locations (which sometimes happens), check the setup.stf file under your Microsoft installation directory and make sure source location points to your CD drive.
