Light earthquake? Maybe I'm too entrenched in the midwest but any old tremor would set me off! eyepop

I live in the Bay area, and that's not very large.

Happens all the time.

That's my first time hearing about it. I thought you were talking about an earthquake from a week ago which I also didn't feel.

The last earthquake I felt was in December 2003 while I was at work. It was centered around Paso Robles, but in downtown SF, it was definitely felt.

When I lived in Oceanside, CA I was in two quakes of about the 4.4 mag. Before then I was never aware of the little shakes that happen in that area all the time. After being in them, I was aware of all the little quivers.

The FREAKIEST thing about the two 4.4-ish quakes I was in was, I go jumping into the doorway, knowing it's not going to be awful but a bit weirded out. The quakes stop and the apartment just kept rocking like a docked boat.

VERY FREAKY FEELING to be swaying like that in your own apartment.
I'm firmly planted in denial

For your enjoyment, I will now list just some of the Government findings posted by residence as to how strong this MINOR earthquake in fact was.

Now Byron was nearest ground zero. His location being an average of just under 18 miles East of the Fontana quake

SAN BERNARDINO (CA) 92407 17.92 III
SAN BERNARDINO (CA) 92408 16.42 IV

Now, in the above graph respondents in Byrons area rated the quake a 3 with some shook up a bit giving it a 4 .....

CHINO HILLS (CA) 91709 34.09 II

Where I live... Which is 34 miles West of Fontanas quake we give it a sound 2 rating.... ( Par for course... This places me 52 miles from Byron)

Here comes the fun part.....

LOS ANGELES (CA) 90063 70.36 II

Ok now LA in their closest reporting point which is just over 70 miles away also rates it a 2. ( Remember they are 35 miles further from ground zero then I am)

LOS ANGELES (CA) 90068 82.81 III

Now Ladies and gentlemen we have reached hysteria: at a whooping 83 miles from ground zero the majority of LA has rated this quake a 3. They feel it was as demonstrative there as it was 17 miles from ground zero.

I wish to extend the following advice to those whom posted this.... You are not California ready... Please pack your bags and proceed to LAX to be ticketed for immediate departure.

Well, yes and no! IT would require his having had come in contact with evil first. There was a moment last year where I believe things went very dark for him in a far off land... Many pictures of said event were posted. Oddly enough they looked just like YOU!!!!! mad

I'm saying that the little ones happen all the time. Sheesh is right!
I'm fully aware of the damage a quake can cause, as I live about six miles from Loma Prieta. You don't have to tell me. wink
