My Big-Screen TV is Temporarily Out of Commission..... I have been having problems with my TV not getting certain channels when I click on them. I called my cable company and had them come out and look at it, and they told me that it was not my cable that was the problem, but the tuner.
So I called the place that I bought the TV from almost 3 years ago, and they called a TV repair place that in turn called me to schedule an appointment to have someone come out and take a look at it. The first guy came to my house and I told him what was going on. I explained that I had the cable company come out to check my cable reception, and they said that it was not my cable that was causing the problem. The repairman flipped through the channels a bit, and I told him which channels I was not getting. The guy was able to get the channels that I was missing when he went through my DVD/VCR tuner, which was kind of strange. Earlier this week, I got a call from the repair shop; they had my tuner and wanted me to schedule an appointment to come out and replace it. I made the appointment for today, in fact, the repairman just left my house a few minutes ago. The repairman was a different person than the one who originally came to my house. He said that he was having trouble with the tuner, and that he was not sure if he would get it to work, but said that he would do his best. After the tuner was put in, the channels still were not working. The repairman asked me if the first guy who was here took the back off my TV to take a look at it, and I said that he had not. The repairman said that the first repairman should have done that, and I agreed, saying that if he had actually looked at the TV, he might have been able to figure out what was going on (and maybe even get the correct tuner). The repairman told me that there was "water damage", and showed me the tuner, that was a bit corroded. So, I'm without a TV in my living room for the time being, which kind of sucks. But all is not totally lost, since I also have a TV in my bedroom that I can watch. I am so happy I have the other TV, because I would probably go nuts without it. Another great thing is that when I bought the TV, I bought an extended warranty plan. It was a very wise investment, since between having a repairman come out to my house 3 times, and the parts and labor, I saved myself a lot of money. The amount that I paid for the extended warranty is probably already equal to everything that has happened with the TV so far. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Don't worry, we got our revenge later. It was a small town, we told all our friends about this, they told all their friends, and before you know it he had to shut his shop and move to another town.
