SOY is EVIL! anyone else heard about it? the phytoestrogens in soy (not in fermented soy products, in which they are broken down) can be linked to falling fertility rates in males. apparently in the western world, soy is such a cheap and easy crop that they use it in just about every processed food stuff you buy. I read an article in the newspaper supplement that claimed feeding your infant with soy milk/soy formula was the equivalent of giving them 3-5 contraceptive tablets each day not so good for the little boys. and they told us it was healthy. and just so you know, the soy milk in the fridge at the supermarket is no different or "fresher" than the one in the normal aisle, it's just a marketing ploy.

I bet you veg guys aren't even in any kind of danger, soy is probably the main ingredient in meat hot dogs and other so-called foods requiring cheap tasteless filler.

has anyone ever tried "rice dream" instead of soy? I am afraid to give it a shot. My brother says he doesn't really care for it that it is too sweet. is that true? "a poor fool indeed is a man who adopts a manner of thinking for others"

My boy drinks real milk just like his daddy. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

at what age will you introduce him to "hop" milk? As soon as he can crawl over to fridge and get one for daddy and one for himself for being such a good boy?

Where did you get this from? I hasten to believe it. I drink that shit and can't stand the taste of cow anymore. I'm a bit scared. I have slight man-boobs...but I'm working out. Is my exercise in vain?

i still drink milk, but i started using more soy milk when the price of milk went up so much a year or so ago...i figured if milk was gonna cost as much as soy milk, i might as well broaden my horizons a bit. now i go back and forth. the crocery was all sold out of the sale soy milk last time i went, so i'm going through a milk phase right now. and nothin beats half & half for my coffee.

And how about the hormones (among other things ) in cows milk?
I'm waiting for the reasearch on Killer Soy, personally. In the meantime, moderation is probably always good. . .

I always knew something was suspect about soy. Plus, I am allergic to it anyway. So, I try to avoid most product that have overly high concetrations of soy in it.

. [Edit ed 1/6/05 20:35pm] Uh-oh! It was in The Age Good Weekend back in November - usually a pretty reliable source, though I think it was a reprint of an article from a US magazine/newspaper.
