A question about Ebay

Is it suppose to take awhile for your bid to show up? I made a bid and it said I haven't made a bid.

No, it should show up pretty much straight away

Speaking of a person who buys way too much crap off Ebay, I can tell you with certainty your bid should show up immediately on the actual item description page but might take an hour or so to reflect itself in the number of bids listed on the page that comes up when you do a search for a particular item.

Ebay is evil and addicting. neutral

eek I don't want to do it again.

If you win a bid, do they give you a certain amount of time to pay or respond?

Yes, you don't have to send the payment right that second - they are pretty reasonable people! Best thing to do is read the Help pages - they are very informative.

I have only purchased a couple things from ebay, and I always use paypal so I pay right on the spot, its just ensures speedy delivery, I am not so good at waiting for things wink

Yeah, you have days rather than hours to pay - no rush. like Ella says, tho, the quicker you pay, the quicker the seller will send it out. After all, you ain't gonna let go of the goods til you have the money, are ya?

Shit typing edit

If you bid it should appear immediately on the actual item's description page.
Sometimes it can take a while to show up on the 'items found' list though.
(but that doesn't matter, as long as it shows up on the item's main page)

As long as you pay within a day or two of the auction ending you should be fine.

Hint: don't place your bid until the very last minute - that way it doesn't give anyone chance to outbid you (unless there max bid is already higher than yours)

Yes, but if you outbid someone else's highest bid, they get the option of increasing their max bid. If you do it all at the last minute, they don't have time to do that.
