That's a weird one as they are NOT sequels and Beyond even has to carry a disclaimer (The author sued Russ Meyer over the name.) It's also not region 1.

Yeah, it's an official Fox Home Video release in the UK. There's a disclaimer at the start of the movie and also in the blurb on the back cover.

Don't you have a region-free player?

No, But I am seriously thinking of getting one. Just for Twin Peaks which Season 2 has been released in a different region (Austrailia I think...go figure)

That and Dead Or ALive Videos are also a different region.

Beyond the Valley of the Dolls is on its way soon, and Roger Ebert has recorded a commentary track for it! smile

I knew it would take his death to get this out on DVD sad It's also the 25th anniversary of the movie. They had rereleased the soundtrack...so that was a good indication that a DVD was coming...eventually.

The commentary was recorded - if I'm not mistaken - before his death. Myer and Ebert were very good friends for several decades.

falloff aint happening. keep hoping, but it ain't happening. I think there's more than one hour and Almost EVERYONE was filmed for that movie. I think Lynch has wiped his hands of that series. Given ALLL of the issues that whole thing had from beginning to end (like people booing the movie), I'd probably do the same.

UPDATE - 12-16-2004

MK2 has decided to release a single disc version of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me on DVD in December 2004 containing the film only. However...

lynch wants to do it but he wants to do it with the cut out scenes as extras and *not* edited into the film..he stands by the released version as *his* version...since his contract stipulates he has final cut approval (on all films after dunn) i tend to believe it...

lara flynn boyle and shery lynn fenn i believe are the only two who didnt participate in the film.....

DVD's ain't shit anyway..extra's I only ever c once and then I go "wow, that was worth £20?"

Watch it, sucka. DVD isn't just about the extras. It's about preserving the film for a home format that does not degrade over time. Plus the resolution is so much better than VHS.

CD's break down over time, and a helluva lot faster than cassette's ever did. I own 20 year cassette's that are still in great condition -and 2 year old CD's that barely play.

Until someone can prove to me otherwise, I'm going to assume it's the same shit w/ DVD's versus VHS.

Something like this?

Trying to put them into the rectangular slot could prove detrimental.

WOWBOBWOW! I usually keep up with these things. Glad to see another orger does the same. I have done extensive research on this and have been disappointed at every turn. I doubt that the cut scenes would have added to the movie though...so his thinking is correct. I have also heard rumors that 2005 marks the end of most of the contrats and legal BS...and One company will own the rights to release it without having to get permission from the other companies. THis could be coinciding with that.

Good News..thanks. I haven't checked the boards lately.

A CD player.rolleyes Pretty decent one too.

Some of these cassette's I've had as long as I can remember (I'm almost 20, so I just rounded up to that) and I've played the shit out of them. As a kid I was none-too-gentle with them either -throwing them out car windows, stepping on them, etc. and most of them still sound great.

My CD's on the other hand? Anything I've owned more than 2 years skips all over the place, and in some cases are worn to the point I can't play them anymore. I took care of the damn things, and didn't even play most of them that often.

It's enough of a crime that it took them YEARS to make a decent dvd release of Goodfellas on a disc you don't have to flip over 1/2 way during the movie whofarted ...

So of course I want to get all the vhs flicks I adore on dvd...

One of my faves is SubUrbia by Richard Linklater (1997). But it's only available on VHS mad I know it wasn't very popular but fuck, it's a great little movie! What's the hold up? chair

What movie has you waiting for its dvd release?

I wouldn't be surprised if Suburbia makes it to DVD soon, especially with the recent success of Before Sunset. Both films are released through Warner Brothers, so I'd guess it will happen soon enough.

They'll probably wait & do a Linklater box set or something. mad
