I am sure naked survived. Our power was out for a few hours, but back on by the afternoon. It is crappy and beautiful all at the same time. My mom's pine tree bends every time we have one of these, and this time, it broke at the trunk.

Maybe it's like that movie where everyone just freezes like a statue!

Its where the rain comes down and freezes to everything, so that as it continues to "freezing rain", the branches get coated, power lines get coated, etc. A little is dangerous, but over a quarter of an inch can weigh down the branches and such so heavily they fall off of trees, or break the whole tree, or pull down the power lines. It can be a huge mess. Two or three years ago there was one in KC that had folks power out for a week. And that is a million people, or whatever..this isn't little house on the prairie... and power crews from 5 other states came in to help. Trees fell on houses, on cars, it looked like a little battle ground. Thankfully this year we had such a heavy snow before thanksgiving--it broke a lot of branches and such--that it was much less damaging last night with the branches and trees.
