Johnny Depp inspired by Marilyn Manson for Wonka remake

Depp Takes Inspiration From Manson For Wonka Role

JOHNNY DEPP's muse for his role as WILLY WONKA in forthcoming movie CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY is set to shock fans of the children's book - it's shock rocker MARILYN MANSON

The OSCAR-nominated actor is keen to give his character a darker edge and has been inspired by the self-proclaimed ANTICHRIST SUPERSTAR for his performance in the TIM BURTON-directed adventure.

This is not the first time Depp has used a rock star as his inspiration - he based flamboyant pirate JACK SPARROW in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN on wildman ROLLING STONE KEITH RICHARDS.

A source says, "He has his music and pictures in his trailer to help get in character.

"He's making Willy far more sinister than before and there's a little of Marilyn in there."
"You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

Why am I the only person on earth it seems that considers this movie a "must miss" for 2005?

I din't like the first one, and I'm not anticipating this one--even though I think Depp is a God.

Supposedly the roll was gonna be given to either Manson or Depp, but Disney or whoever wasn't having it. Depp said he'd be perfectly happy letting Manson take it since they're friends. Oh well, at least he was inspired.

Manson was always a fan of The original Willy Wonka film and had a track on his first album called The Family Trip which was a dark version of Wonka's boat ride song. Plus his video for Dope Hat was created with the look of the film.

Looking forward to this as much as Batman Begins. Depp can do anything. This film was made for Tim Burton.

After watching the trailer it's going to hard seeing the new version without comparing it with the Wilder version I grew up with and loved.

Still anxious to see it though-it looks fucked up, but in a possibly brilliant way.
