Superstitions: Do you have any? Do you believe in them? Do you know of any strange ones? So I was clipping my nails in the evening one night and my roommate said "Did you know it's unlucky to cut your nails after sunset"....I'd never heard that one before....
So, what superstitions do you have or what strange ones have you heard of? | |

If 3 people are photographed together, the one in the middle will die first.

i grew up around a lot of superstitions... throwing salt across your shoulder if you spilled some, not walking underneath ladders, etc. to this day, i'm still checking to see which direction a black cat crosses my path, although we have a black cat who probably walks right to left in front of me 20 times a day... | |

I have a weird one.....I love cats, and my grandmother was always hounding me about them when I gave birth to each of my children. The old superstition was that it was bad luck to allow a cat around your infant, because they would suck out their breath and possibly cause death. I believe this old one came about because the cats would smell the milk on the babies breath and would get close to the baby and their mouths while investigating. I have only one superstition and it is as follows:
If you meet someone who believes in superstitions, run! Only bad things can happen when you hang-out with fools. |

There is this ditty about seeing magpies
1 for sorrow 2 for joy 3 for a girl 4 for a boy 5 for silver 6 for gold 7 for a storey never to be told 
So if ya see only one you have to do the salute thing and say some stuff about "hello Mr.Magpie, Hows your wife?" although I'm not sure its right  but that cancels out the bad luck from seeing only 1 
I don't walk on three street drain covers, thats bad luck 
And I try not to pass someone on the stairs either
