I think it's a bit of a myth really as I'm sure that those men who are indeed intimidated by women who are taller than them are in a minority. Given that those who are or make out that they are, may to some extent feel more uncomfortable with their own short comings. Personally, I don't feel intimidated by anyone no matter what size or shape they are.

I think most of them love tall women, plenty of good lovin and a wonderful mountain to climb.

cuntroversial said: ok, well if only 3 inches separate short from tall.....
I don't really have an issue with the height thing, honestly. That said, I'm 5'9" tall. That makes me both taller than you, and shorter than applekisses...so three inches in height can make quite a difference! 5'9 1/2" tall is very statuesque for a woman; I have a friend who's 5'8" and people consider her quite tall... Still, I don't restrict myself with regard to height. But as someone else mentioned in this thread, we're often of the impression that most women will not consider dating someone shorter. Now that I think about it, my girlfriend in my last serious relationship was under five feet tall. I guess I often end up talking to the 'cute little petite women' when I'm out...

maybe because they aren't wearing the right kilt. a nice kilt will help anyone in the self-confidence department [Edited 1/2/05 14:30pm]

i'm 6'1", and i've learned not to worry about it anymore. if anybody is intimidated, it's on them - i don't think i act in a threatening way at all.
as a teenager, i remember being devastated, thinking i would never be able to wear heels. now i looooove wearing heels. it's not like they'll think of me as short, just because i'm wearing flats, so i might as well...

Sweeny79 said: JoweeCoco said: Shorter? Taller I can understand, but why shorter? I don't know... I guess cuz I always lked how those really tiny women look, kinda like kids. Believe me, you don't want that. I'm 4'11'' and weigh just over 90 lbs. Overall that doesn't bother me, but it has at times put me at a social disadvantage. When I'm out with my friends -most of whom I'm at least a few months older than -I've been mistaken for someone's much younger sister. I've been ID'd going into a PG-13 movie. I'm more likely to be patted on the head and aksed which one of my friends is babysitting me than hit on by someone. I'm sure when I'm 45, I'll love being ID'd everywhere, but at 19 it's a pain in the ass. [Edited 1/2/05 17:42pm] "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

If I were thinking about being with a 5'9 1/2 Thai woman I'd probably check out her adam's apple before getting too friendly.
