excuse me but the line where they're glued onto your fingers is visible there. not to mention that 'pearly' plastic look. sorry but they look fake imo, either that or they're the 'french-tipped' nails. if they were real, your cuticles would be visible

My nails always chip and break so I have to keep them short. I've mastered the french manicure finally so that's what I have all the time. It's the only thing that looks good on my pathetic nails!

The dolphins are nice!

Yeah I wanted to spice up the French a bit but I didn't want anything to crazy. I found getting the Gels helped to let my nails grow cause once the tips grow out and get filed away the gel helps make them stong and they don't break easily. My hands get such a beating at work too so this way I can still do pretty things with them.

"Pearly plastic"...hmmm...ever heard of nail polish...they do the white French tips with the pearl coat so the purple dolphins blend better...as for the cuticles, I can see them but when you get a manicure they usualy trim them and clean them up, you shouldn't have to much cuticle, thats how hangnails start. And the shiny look comes from the top coat that they use to protect the polish and the airbrushed dolphins. You have the right to your opinion and if you thnk they look fake so be it but why do you care to make an issue of it?? If I had gone and spent money on a manicure and the cuticles were really noticable I would want my money back cause the manicurist wouldn't have done her job.

yeah um french manicure has nothing to do with being fake or real. those are OBVIOUSLY real by the shape of them. not that it matters anyway a lot of women have the fake tips glued on. the gel and the french manicure are what makes it look "pearly", adn part of a manicure is pushing the cuticles back at which point they're barely noticeable.

that"line" you see is like before you get the french manicure done when you clean under your nails you get a line where they separate from teh fingertip. in order to make the french manicure look good they have to make it at the same place on every nail. the natural line of separation however is not necessarily the same from finger to finger, thus some will show what YOU think is a glue line. look at your fingernails for a minute adn look at a set of fakies. yours shoud, or at least most women's do, flare out at teh end...more of a V shape. the fake ones are a perfect oval. the factthat hers flare out at the end tells me for a fact that they are not fake.

go get a gel coat and a french manicure adn see what yours look like after. then come back if it means that much to you to argue about whether a girl's nails are fake or not when you know nothing about the issue.

i'm sorry and you can tell i'm no expert, but define 'french tips', please, would that be something applied or glued to the underlying nail?

A French manicure is where there is traditionaly a white coat put alonf the tips of the nails...mine without the dolphins.

french tips or a french manicure is the way they paint the tip of the nail that extends beyond the fingertip....in this case white or ivory. it's the natural look but enhanced with the paint job. sometiems they do it with silk. this is stil lnot fake, but merely a decorative thing. there are some fake nails that are referred to as tips so this may be confusing terminology-wise. there is a gel coat applied to the nail which is basically a very thick clear nail polish, intended to make the nails almost unbreakable. this also is nto a fake nail but an enhancement. the fake ones are plastic usually, jsut plain glued to the nail where there is no real one, and the manicure continued from there.

I wouldn't put tips back on my nails if you paid me to.

I had them for years, and finally got them taken off for good. You would not believe how brittle my nails STILL are, and I got them taken off six months ago.

If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't have done it.

Oh, they're real??? Ooops, hehehehe.

Anywhoos, are they real with acrylic on them?

I just get regular manicures now, but with very light color, because it tends to chip so easily. I can't type with the tips anymore.
