Ace!!! You must listen to me on this one!!! Trust me!!!!
"Cannibal: The Musical" This was done by the creators of South Park while they were still in college (at my alma mater, the University of Colorado, Boulder). It's a HILARIOUS movie about a Colorado historical figure who ended up eating his entire band of companions as they headed from Utah to Breckinridge, Colorado in search of gold. I promise you that you will laugh your ass off on this one and I recommend it to anyone who's in the mood for a good laugh!

OK. The big problem with this question, is it's almost impossible to find epic/cinematography and relationship/comedy all in one film. It just doesn't happen. Relationship comedies are character-focused so they tend to take place in living rooms not sweeping deserts.
Here are some great films that are high drama, relationship-oriented, great cinematography for the Plasma, and bleak. The Piano Fanny & Alexander (3.5 hours can be considered epic) Eyes Wide Shut And don't forget Gone With The Wind La Dolce Vita Amelie (already mentioned) Days of Heaven!!!! Before Sunrise is a delightful relationship movie with no cinematography at all Mystery Train is smart, minimalist comedy

Standing in the Shadow of Motown Before Sunrise Before Sunset Sex And Lucia Love the Hard Way Shattered Glass City of God Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind The Secret Lives of AlterBoys Saved! Mean Girls In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

Both Movies are more than just arelationship movie... i guess you have to have lived something like what those two did to "get it" oh I get it. I'm just generalizing for the sake of someone who knows nothing about the films. I'd say they're way closer to relationship movies than action flicks, sci fi, or horror. a little cinema verité in there, a little My Dinner With Andre. Indeed, hard to categorize.

It's not an epic, but Manhattan has gorgeous cinematography. So does Stardust Memories. But she's not big on Woody. Eyes Wide Shut
Love it. But the sex-quotient is probably too high for her. Days of Heaven
Before Sunrise Mystery Train Seem 'em all.
