Eddie Murphy appreciation. Ur fav Eddie movies?

Lets remind ourselves of some eddie.

The Haunted Mansion (2003)
Daddy Day Care (2003)
I Spy (2002)
The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002)
Showtime (2002)
Dr. Dolittle 2 (2001)
Nutty Professor II: The Klumps (2000)
Bowfinger (1999)
Life (1999)
"The PJs" (1999) TV Series (voice)
Holy Man (1998) .... G
Doctor Dolittle (1998)
Mulan (1998) (voice)
Metro (1997)
The Nutty Professor (1996) Jensen/Ernie Klump, Sr.
Vampire in Brooklyn (1995) ... aka Wes Craven's Vampire In Brooklyn (USA: complete title)
Beverly Hills Cop III (1994)
The Distinguished Gentleman (1992)
Boomerang (1992)
Another 48 Hrs. (1990)
Harlem Nights (1989)
What's Alan Watching? (1989) (TV)
Coming to America (1988)
Beverly Hills Cop II (1987)
The Golden Child (1986)
Beverly Hills Cop (1984)
Best Defense (1984)
Trading Places (1983)
48 Hrs. (1982)

My fav at the moment is probery 48 hours with Nick Nolte. This movie started the buddy movies exposion really. Still great in places, as was it's sequel.

"golden chuld" is pretty bad, but in a good way. "coming to america" could of been so much funnier but, despite the datedness of it all, it captures the late 80's pretty well.

"vampire in brooklyn" is not that bad either

"boomerang" has not dated at all and with a great performance by Eddie as a convincing womenizer (proberly one of his best perfomances). Plus Grace Jones and Ertha Kitt r hilairious in this movie. (remember the dinner scene with Grace Jones?) "boomerang" is proberly his most mature movie that can compete with other romantic films easily.

Anyway, Eddies movies remind me when a central black comedy role was still fresh and funny.

Plus "put ur mouth on me" is a classic! biggrin

Eddies voice was average but not bad though.

The pj's was a great tv show too (remember that??.....give it up 4 eddie

Right on! He was crack funny in Trading Places (love the scene in the lock up, "...Back the fuck up! Back the fuck up!..." lol ), but to me he'll always be a Beverly Hills Cop (allow the sequels).

WOW! U own alot of eddie. I've noticed that as eddies movies came out on DVD so early, u get barely any extra's! Paramount r tight bastards. I got the Beverly hills cop triology which actually has some real good bonus footage.

I love "another 48 hours".....crtics hate it, but if it's like the first, thats cool by me!

"bevery hills cop 3" was pretty ropey, but still watchable.

"Trading Places" is probably my favorite out of the bunch, although his voice for Donkey in SHrek I and II was great.

"Coming To America". I remember seeing it in a theather when I was young and not getting a lot of the jokes but I see it on TV all the time now and crack up! "Trading Places" is a great one as well. Lately, though, his movies look so bad, I wouldn't rent them if you paid me. He did redeem himself with "Shrek 2" though! And I forgot "The Golden Child". That used to be on TV all the time and I dug it, even though the monster was scary and the blood in the oatmeal grossed me out!

Nah, "boomerang" is classic eddie. On a more obscure note, "holy man" is a very nice, positive film. Reccomended to anyone who feels a bit low!

"showtime" was cool too, I think that flopped.....

"Holy Man"..."Holy Crap"! Unwatchable. Eddie's best movies were made in the eighties...I don't think he can recapture that magic and with movies like "I Spy" and "Holy Man", he doesn't seem to interested in it.

Hey, good to now 1 person likes that track. I totally agree on the Prince feel. Sorta thing Camille would do.....

Off each of his 3 albums, there is at least one very good track.

80's producer Narada Michael Walden wrote and produced that track. He produced "we don't have to take our clohes off" by jermaine Stewart so there are ocnnections there biggrin

Anyway i wish they'd show "the pj's" again.

"i spy" was crap, as was "daddy day care".....I still rent out most his modern movies. Thoug I passed up on "haunted mansion" and the "doctor dolittle" movies.

"nutty professor" was his last great film, as sappy as it is!

I haven't seen all of his more recent movies, but anyway... I'll go mainly for the old school flicks:

Trading Places
48 Hrs
Raw
Beverly Hills Cop
Coming to America

I also quite enjoyed "The Distinguished Gentleman" and even... "Harlem Nights" boxed
Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!
