This is me as well. I'm one boring dude - never been high or drunk. I used to smoke like crazy, but I quit several years back. I even cut back on the Diet Coke, down from 2 or 3 a day to that many in a week.

I tried drugs in my youth but have seen it affect one too many of my friends. I was never seriously into that stuff anyway. Like you, I'm an ex-smoker and used to chain smoke. I'm so proud I quit.

Another thing that's puzzled me: people who get busted for illegally possessing controlled medications and/or forging prescriptions to get them. Aside from Schedule II meds (e.g., Oxycontin), most of that stuff can be easily obtained from the right doctor.

I once had to sit through a bunch of criminal hearings while waiting for the judge to hear my case (a tax deed issue)... this 18-year-old kid was facing felony charges because he'd bought a few Xanax pills from a friend. Xanax? Some docs hand that stuff out like candy.

BTW, the guy plead guilty, and luckily for him, the judge knocked the conviction down to a misdemeanor.
