it's not so bad. i had the nitrous oxide which helped with the nervousness. didn't have narcotics afterward, just advil.

a day off from work and a slight bit of bruising (but i bruise easily) i do wish however that i wouldn't have had the top ones removed. they were erupted and perfectly fine. my teeth have been moving around a bit which fucks up your bite but seems to have settled down now.

I had all 4 of mine taken out at the same time about nine years ago. It wasn't too bad for me. Hell, I even went shopping with my wife later that day.

I'm telling you, GET RID OF THEM WISDOM TEETH. YOu don't want to be old when you finally have to have them taken out.

ANYONE SEE that Tom HANKS movie, where he's stranded on an island and has to take his own tooth out? Yes, it'll be unpleasent.

They seem to be teeth located at the back of the top and bottom are hard to clean and so infection sets in (teeth get impacted). Thus the removal whether or not impacted.

I had mine taken off around my twenties, some bacuse of inflammation and some because they were rotten and couldn't be filled. It was easy to have them taken off.

It's very rare but my father-in-law has had the wisdom teeth taken off about five times as there always comes a new one. His dentist said there can be many initial stages of them but they don't come out on everyone's gums. I don't know why.

I had my lower wisdom teeth removed around age 14 and my uppers removed at age 20. It really wasn't that bad in my case... they gave me nitrous oxide (fun stuff!) to relax me and then injected me with novocaine... I couldn't feel the actual removal.

I still have two of my removed wisdom teeth... I'm saving them as samples of my DNA.
