Driving on the freeway on Christmas Day was heaven... I had the whole road to myself. I can't stand the everyday traffic here in Phoenix. Plus... I love working on Christmas Day... the Emergency sign is just a sign I pass each morning after parking my car and walking into the hospital. (I was trying to through you off) The hospital holds 600 beds/patients... many in which do not have family or spend Christmas Day alone and ill.  There is truly nothing better in this world... than to give my time so willingly, with a smile... and full of compassion. I mean... what do you say when someone is only wishing to be home or with family and instead are ill or fighting for their life. Many... may never go home again... I know this... and it breaks my heart continuously and I fight not to show it.
~Sigh... 
One can only leave... with a sense (such as I)... that Christmas is soooo overrated, drawnout and blown out of proportions these days. The fact is... that many may only wish for good health or a second chance to live. ... | |
