I got

and I am love in the George, I had forgotten how much I loved his voice

Both great albums. I got the George Michael set when it came out several years back. While I love it as a whole, it annoys me that they didn't include the single version of I Want Your Sex. I hate pt 2.

Definitely taps into those emotions, you're right.

His voice has that haunting ache to it-reminds me of Jeff Buckley in that aspect that it feels like he's singing directly to you.

Haven't heard a voice quite like Damien's since Jeff to be honest.

Sort of a beauty in tragedy element going in the music there.

biggrin

Yes! Totally like Jeff. Direct and just brimming with emotion. Lovely.

If you don't feel listening to those two, you just don't feel.

AMEN! Damien is one of my absolute favorite performers to come out in recent years. "Amie" reduces me to tears instantly. The line "You know when you've found it ... 'cause you feel it when they take it away" may be the most honest line ever written about loss. A mix tape or CD is not complete without a song from Damien. I've turned lots of people on to his stuff. His "B-Sides" EP is great too.

I'll have to check out his B-Sides EP-definitely caught my eye-thanks for the heads up.

Amie really is a great one-they all are, but the strings in the background just pull your emotions right out while his voice is floating on the top with such dead-on lyrics and if you don't at least get close to tearing up, well you're hopeless..

lol

(Definitely an artist you listen to and go-"Where has this guy been?!?")

Did they really need to cover "I've Had the Time Of My Life" though?

Even though I'm sure Cloudbuster would love it.
