It's excellent that you helped that man during his time of need. And it's excellent that you recognize your blessings. Doesn't mean you don't deserve them because others have less. You just gotta try and make it up in little ways. I gave $10s, $5s and $1s to homeless people during this holiday season. Every little bit helps darlin

. [Edited 12/27/04 10:06am] To say that I'm like you is a lovely compliment. I think it's worthwhile to help however we can, but it still sometimes feels almost. . .embarassing, I guess. . .because nothing I can do for him (or the homeless person I give a buck to, etc.) can begin to make up for the sheer luck that put me in a place to make better choices and have a better life than they did/do. Not seeing a way out of this problem, I just do my little embarassing bit.

Unfortunately, I ended up having a really horrible Christmas Day and found I'm still watching what tv/movies I watch so as not to make myself even more sad. I'm firmly planted in denial | |
