Alley Blames Elastic for Not Noticing Weight Gain

Former Cheers star Kirstie Alley blames her love of elastic-waist skirts for failing to realize her increasing weight. The actress became a regular tabloid favorite a year ago, after her svelte figure gave way to a much heavier frame, and she admits that if it wasn't her passion for elastic she'd have noticed her clothes not fitting sooner. She says, "This is the story of my now-fat life - it's all about elastic! Some of these (skirts) I had when I was skinny. But the point is if I have this skirt and I'm skinny and then I (grow), I'm going like, 'Well, as long as my skirt still fits!' Well, this would fit anybody. This would fit a hippo!"

actually...i care...why? because i culture places way too much importance on weight....we need to stop idolizing thin woman..and Kirstie is a beautiful woman...i wish she would come out and acknowledge that she is more concerned about her health then her beauty...but she hasnt....hopefully this process will teach her otherwise...and hopefully she will be an inspiration to many of the people in this world who think they have no hope in regaining their health...

so there!! theres more to this story then being fat!!

Good luck Kirstie...Good luck in getting those pointy ears back!!

nutty

clapping Plus, being overweight doesn't automatically equal being unhealthy.

nod Agreed. I loved her in the Star Trek Movie. This was some of her best acting as far as I am concerned.
