Ever get those times when... You feel you should have given someone a cuddle or a kiss and you feel bad about it?! Even if it is a work colleague or an aquaintance of yours?
I mean, Im not the kinda person who goes around having to hug everyone like some kind of sap, but you know, just as a kind of effection and respect. I guess personally, I feel I ought to and then feel shitty not to do. My boss and a colleague kissed me on the hand the other night which I thought was a bit, well, naff really.

I think its just purely down to shyness. On my part at least. Im a very shy person, whereby I wouldnt know if someone was cracking onto me if it hit me in the face.

Ex-Moderator | Never give a cuddle or a kiss out of feelings of obligation. You always feel lousy after. At least I do. |

yeah, i get that way a lot - whenever i see my sweetie off to work in the morning i always have a moment or two afterwards when i feel like i could have said something nicer or been more affectionate or whatnot; but first off, i haven't gotten any complaints so far and i think i'm just being a worrywart; and secondly, i'm weird anyway - i'm less demonstrative with affection and platitudes and more demonstrative with actions - like prezzies and surprises and treats and stuff like that. hell, i make his bed every morning. i'm good for SOMEthing.

i'm having the same problem at work at the moment jd, so many clients give very generous tips at this time of year, one older gentleman client who is a little smelly but very nice gave me a £50 tip which is extremely generous of him and i made a total idiot of us both when i took it from him i was all,,,,do i give him a kiss on the cheek do i give him a quick hug and hold my breath,,,how the hell do i show my appreciation to this guy so i hovered around him for what seemed like ages but was probabaly only seconds and he leaned towards me and i'm freaking because he smells so bad what do i do? i patted him on the back and said thankyou! oh my god how embarrasing and how patronisisng i must have seemed, i shiver even now as i think about it.i'm not a naturally affectionate person unless i'm pissed and i'm always making a tit of myself when people kiss me i bang heads kiss noses i've knocked peoples glasses off!i think we should just shake hands.

I know what you mean cammille, its that awkward moment in between where it just doesnt come natural. If you go and kiss someone like the other night Id feel a bit a of a creep!

i work in a pretty "huggy" place, so it's never really a problem. not crazy about hugging my boss, though (he's like a foot shorter than me, plus he's, ya know... my boss!)

I think becuase I dance part time that I kind of don't like being touched unless I'm getting tipped. It makes me feel dirty. Being a part time go-go boy is just that--part time. I'm normally very reserved.
