The New Mustang is HIDEOUS.

What have they done to this once beautiful car. They're trying to combine features of the classic '67 mustang with features of a newer model and IMO.....it's not working. I love the 67 mustang(as it is) and the more recent mustangs.....but I just don't see the appeal of the two combined. I liked where Ford was going with the mustang around '01/'02....and I thought they could only get better, not worse. That's just me though shrug

The 2002: How did it go from this to that above.

1967 model: beautiful biggrin

The Mustang has always been and always will be: one pile of crap.

Besides the new Ford GT and (maybe) the new Corvette, all "supercars" from the US can't keep up with the European and Asian ones.

I love the design. The only thing is, it's a bit too big. When I saw the first pics of it, I was under the impression that they were gonna make it a little more compact, but it's about as big as the last redesign.

The interior is straight out of the 80s.

I know.....those classic features on a car that size doesn't work. And I love almost everything out of the 80's....except for cars, and since the interior looks 80's....then they can keep it.

I like the Viper from the front. It's a little too long though for a sports car. I remember the first time I saw it was in the Nutty Professor.

Yes, it is a car designed to be seen in.
It is nothing I would ever want to whip down a back road in
It exhibits no passion, it might as well be a hummer.

Well, it's not an everyday car. I'd only drive it for show too. The Hummer is one vehicle that I will NEVER understand the appeal of. I hate Hummers with a passion....I don't car how much a person tricks it out....it will forever be a box on wheels, IMO. lol Plus I could never spend $50+ just filling it up.

pic. edit.

Thats what I mean is boring to me, what is the point of a sports car just for show?

The humble list of fast cars I have owned is:
1980 z28
1979 porsche 924
1986 VW scirocco 16 valve

The last to gave an almost heavenly feeling when driven fast thru winding roads.
I considered them beautiful cars, but it is the feeling of driving them that meant everything to me.

(I am currently debating putting us in debt buying a 1966 porsche 912 that needs work)

Winding roads? lol knowing me I'd roll off a cliff trying to be speed racer. What about the 911? That's the only Porsche I'd go into debt for.

The 911 has a wonderful history, tracing way back to the earliest stages of the vw bug. I think the 911 lost some of it's soul when it became water cooled a few years back. I don't like the attitude of the current ceo of porsche and I hate the crappy suv they are offering.
By debt I mean thousands, not even tens of thousands.
The 1966 912 is a 911 with a leftover 356 four cylinder engine.
(by the way you should practice a few emergency things like changing a tire, or else carry AAA)

"356 four cylinder engine".....must you be so technical? lol I'm just not too crazy about the classic Porsche though. I only saw a pic. of the SUV, I like the headlights, but other than that....it's not my thing. Which I'm not all that crazy about SUVs period.

This is where the engine and suspension got it's start

Then came the bug (a porsche design adapted to meet the nazi idea of a peoples car)

Finally Porsche's son moved the compant to the hills after the war and produce Porsche number 1 (actually the 356th design for the company)

The 356 evolved for years, but finally the need for more power caused the creation of the 911. This last one looks a lot like the 912 I am looking at.
This is a lot more fun than mustangs and vipers.

The beetle is another one of my dream cars.....especially the convertibles. Out of all of the cars that I just like to look at, that's the only one I can truely see myself driving. It fits my personality more than any other car. My dad used to have a convertible one and he had it painted this neon yellow-green color. And at the time I don't think anybody else had one like it. He eventually sold it before I was able to drive.....I wanted him to pass it down as my car, but it was a stick shift...and my driving skills aren't the greatest, so that would've been a disaster. So now if I got the newer convertible....I'd probably have it painted the same color.

That 356 you loved evolved into the speedster

a favorite car of James Dean who eventually felt the need for more speed and bought the 550 race car.

Dean was putting miles on the car to break in the engine when a truck didn't see him. He died in the crash.

I like the bug as well, but more for the mechanics than the look. I like the Karman Ghia more. I am not a huge fan of the new bug, as I feel the golf is a better platform for those engines.
