The Waltons or Little House on the Prairie??

When I was a child I loved the Waltons and The Little House on the Prairie
I practically grew up with Melissa Gilbert as Laura Ingalls.
And I always wanted to be part of a big family like the Waltons.

Still like them... boxed

Am I the only one???

I was force fed the waltons by my mother.
In school the next day other kids are talking about Battle Star Galactica or some such. Sometimes i'd pretend I had seen the episode.

Along theese lines did anyone watch Frontier House

I watched that and Victorian house, then gave up on theese type shows, they spent to much time on the boring relationships between the players, and not enough on the actual how to of what was being done.
sorry, Little house made me think of this

No, you're definitely not the only one. I watched both Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons growing up as a kid. I think I liked Little House better, even though the episodes were sooo sad. Does anybody remember when the Ingalls had a baby brother that died, and Laura felt that she was responsible for his death, because she felt jealous of him? That episode made me cry, it was heartbreakingly sad! bawl sigh

The late Michael Landon always wrote the saddest but best story lines that made you think, and there was also a lesson hidden in the storyline. I remember going to school the next day and hearing the kids in my class talking about what had happened on the show the night before. Makes me wonder why the reruns of Little House and The Waltons are not in syndication, like so many other popular shows are? hmmm
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

omfg They blew up Walnut Grove? What in the world for? I missed the last few years of Little House because I had PSR class on Monday night, at the same time that the show was on. Back in the late 70's, early 80's, VCRs were not invented yet, so I lost track as far as what was happening on that show. I remember being soooo mad because I couldn't watch it. lol

If I remember it correctly, it was because someone bought the whole town and wanted to make a profid out of it. The people of Walnut grove did'nt want that so they blew up their own houses!! It was weird to see Nelly's Place blown away.
Can you see it, All the family's together and one by one they blew up their own place! cry

omfg That is fucked up, blowing up your own house. I would not like that at all either. Makes me glad that I didn't see that episode. That's a terrible ending to a great show. mad

How could we ever forget Nelly Olsen? lol She was a mean-spirited brat, but she added a lot to the show.

A funny story that I once read about the actress who used to play Nellie: She was in a parade sitting on a float (forget where it took place), and she said that when people saw her, they started booing and throwing things at her. falloff So sad that people can't differentiate that she was playing a character for her role on Little House. She probably is not even like Nellie at all in real life. lol
