Some people build a bridge Others build one of most beautiful (and biggest) pieces of art-meets-technology and also happen to use it as a bridge. Yay for the French today
It's higher than the Eiffel Tower, and over 2.5km long (and no, i don't know how that converts to silly miles). "It's better 2 B hated 4 what U R than 2 B loved 4 what U R not."

Beautiful... I love bridges, they're more like huge sculptures than anything...
Still my favorite (until I get over to France, that is..lol):

I've actually never been to the "official" one on the right hand side of the road. I was just so amazed at the one on the other side that I keep going there whenever people come visit me... Plus, it's cool that it used to be a little military dealio....

This may not be the highest bridge or the most beautiful but I thought it was interesting here in Washington and Oregon State
The Bridge of The Gods The Bridge of the Gods crosses the Columbia River about four miles upriver from the Bonneville Dam. According to Indian legends, a natural bridge, called the Bridge of the Gods, existed near here before collapsing. The geology of the area shows evidence of a large land slide which may have temporarily created a natural dam. This would explain the legend of a bridge. The current bridge was started in 1920 and took six years to complete.

The "Pont du Gard" is situated at about 2 km west from Remoulin. It's one of the wonders of the Antiquity, the most famous and probably the most beautiful monument edified in France by Romans. The "Pont du Gard" crosses the Gardon's Valley. It was built in 19 before Christ, at the time of Augustus, and it constitutes the fragment of an aqueduct, about 50 km long, wich supplied the city of Nice with water. The Borg... Just for you, Red: kind of sort of your neck of the woods. Ish. MY shoes have walked over this bridge. In fact, me and Alive ran over this when we did the Great North Run a couple of years ago. He did it in just under two hours. I expect to complete the run in Spring 2005. Watch this space.
