Very true.

Colin's album Man at Work was my favorite of last year.

Definitely worth checking out if you haven't.

Actually i always wanted to go to Carols by Candlelight when i was a kid giggle it has a warm feelin about it xmas sun

Hehe Christmas in Melbourne, I can tell you how a typical Christmas here is spent as a member of an Anglo-Indian family who migrated here to Melbourne some odd 30 sumfin yearz ago!!

Every Christmas is spent in one of my relos house, lolling around da lounge and backyard, theres a crap load of homemade christmas cake and every year a k.k or secret santa is done with da families, both generations. So essentially this year $50 is spent on each aunt or uncle and a cousin! This is to save costz cause da family is ever expanding giggle We have one of my uncles wear a santa hat and give out da presents, and it's embarrasing, cause sometimez they try and make you sit on their lap- it isnt that great when your older and you happen to be wearing a slightly short skirt omfg ill lol ...

There is typically SO much food, you just dont' understand lol food is a big factor with my family!! As is most i guess!! There's a fair share of different curries and rices rolleyes and salads, there's a stuffed roast turkey, and pork..and sometimes Italian...one of my uncles gets da Jamaican rum out and serves it with coke, cause dat's what my great grandma loved, and Christmas day is her death anniversary (sounds morbid i know, but it isn't meant dat way)...ans it's my cousin Carolines birthday on Christmas day too. And wait till you hear what we do for her lol ...I'm thinkin she'll be over it now dat she's turning 13!! But every year, instead of singing bloody happy birthday, her dad puts on dat Neil Diamond song 'Sweet Caroline' and and we do this really corny swaying dance, sometimes wearing sunglasses, singing very loudly to this song falloff It's so strange, but it seems da thing to do since her name is Caroline lol shrug giggle

Yeah, it's pretty fun on Christmas day for da most part!! Got quite a few characters in my family- some more psycho than myself, so it calls for a by-da-minute entertainment kinda day nod

party xmas

Ummm... in Seattle they put some lights on top of the Space Needle, so it looks as if there's a little Xmas tree on top. Other than that, I dunno. confuse

There is a neighbourhood in my City that is referred to as Candy Cane Lane coz each year these people decorate their houses in lights, decorations, etc. Each year people walk, drive around the area and one request is that you bring some food items for the Food Bank.

Not much snow in the ground, barely any to speak of.

I'm in California so it is not any minus degrees or anything crazy but it is freezing enough 2 me all the same smile I am mexican so we make tamales of all kinds for what seems like a million hours but they are well worth it and delicious. We also have a tradition called Las Posadas that is kinda a carol/reenactment of Joseph and Mary lookin for shelter.

There are 7 of us.. 4 of them are married, and with children, and grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

So myself, and the other 3 spend Christmas with Mom.. We have dinner.. Usually a standing rib roast, and all the fixings..

This year my mother wants to have a traditional Mexican Christmas.. We will be making Mexican food. She said Enchiladas, beans, rice, chili, sopapillas, empanadas.

We already made tamales. drool

After dinner we open gifts, and play board games..

I don't know... but my Christmas tree is smelling sour. whofarted I am, right this moment... going to unplug the lights, take them off the tree and throw the darn (cute as a button tree) out! It's purpose has been served.

From now on... I am sticking to my artificial trees, so much more enduring.

Phew! ill

~It's cleaning house time for me. woot!

I'm going... now... mad, that is why I do not like to get flowers or real plants that have been picked. wilted I would much rather have something that can be nurtured, or dried flowers can be very beautiful and long lasting as well. rose

When I was a teenager I had the worst time with throwing out cut flowers and ESPECIALLY xmas trees. My little sister and I once rescued our beloved xmas tree from the trash and leaned it against a big tree in our backyard. I swear to you, that thing stayed green out there for MONTHS. It finally got washed away in a minor flood, or who knows how long we would have had it!

Now I have a teeny artificial tree, and I have less money to buy myself flowers, so it's all good. smile
