Sorry That's Paris Hilton's Sidekick studded with rhinestones. And no, it's fabulous! It's a cell phone with real web browsing, email, instant messaging, camera with flash. Socks still got butt like a leather seat... | |

My mother recently got one. She wanted something simple and non-geeky that would allow her to use email and surf the web wherever she goes... she travels semi-frequently for both business and pleasure. She's quite happy with it.
I played around with the Sidekick II last time I saw her. The web browser is pretty good for such a small device, although I believe it doesn't support JavaScript. This limitation meant that my attempt to do Internet check-in for my flights home via the Sidekick was not successful. The other issue was that the Sidekick II's email client doesn't really work with Microsoft Outlook/Exchange, the email system used by her office. As a workaround, she had her work email account set up to automatically send a copy of every email to her Sidekick. This is a little inconvenient because she has to delete each email twice: once in Outlook and once on the Sidekick. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |
