does anyone use NETFLIX to rent DVDs?

I just got this flyer in the mail about netflix...for 17.99 a month. Renting unlimted DVDs...does anyone use this? Blockbuster on my block charges $4.99 to rent a DVD but I don't rent that much these days...but this NEtflix thing seems really convenient because you can keep DVDs as long as you want with no late fees . Any feedback? Thanks. PG

Two of my roomies have it and they both love it....they've had it for at least a year....if you rent a couple movies a month, it's great.

i use netflix, and i've been using it for the better part of the year. i like it - i like to watch lotsa DVD box sets of tv series, and they've got 'em all. plus they have lots of cool indie stuff and documentaries, and they're getting in more and more criterion collection DVDs. and if you like the big budget blockbuster flicks, there's never a wait - they have a kajillion copies ready to go. i usually go through six DVDs a week through them when i have time to watch stuff - i get the three at a time plan. i'm all for it! thumbs up!

DO IT!!!

I specifically joined because I realized I was treating DVDs like CDs and just buying 'em all the time. Netflix is the perfect antidote to that.

YEAH!!! I rented the Weezer video and a Residents video and I have the Peter Gabriel DVD on the way - there's lots of stuff that I really wanna see, but I don't think I'd watch over and over, and Netflix is good for that. If I'm in the mood to see it again on down the road, I can just throw it back in the ol' queue. nod And some DVDs that I've bought, I was able to preview via Netflix. It's a good deal!

I hope they'll like it....they live in Colorado so I'm not sure how many movies they actually watch per month...we'll see if they actually get hooked and continue the service after the three months...

Everyone I know who has it (about 4 people) loves it. Only reason I haven't gotten it is b/c I have to be in certain moods to watch certain movies. It's better for me to go to Cockbuster & choose flicks according to my mood that week...

I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a member to browse the site and see if your movie choices are there. I must say, I'm blown away by the variety they have!!! Just got an email that my first set of choices is going to be shipped.

My mom has had a VCR for years and still barely knows how to work it. neutral

She'd be terrified of a DVD player. lol

I'm a huge, huge movie buff and I've been considering joining NETFLIX for awhile now and this thread has definitely helped me decide to do so.

Netflix is great when I'm traveling. I can rent a DVD, watch it in flight on my computer, and then just drop it in the first mailbox I come across after I arrive at my destination.

Love it, love it, love it! I've only been a member for a couple months now and I can't believe it took me so long to join. I'll echo everything everyone's said. Convenient, no late fees and the selection is amazing.
