Italian Beef Probably my favorite sandwhich in the world ever.
I just got a whole kit to make 5 sandwiches for X-mas. it's perishable...so I have to eat it in the next day or so. It cam with Hot Gardinera So, what is this sandwhich..that apparently is impossible to replicate any where but Chicago . It's basically very similar to a french dip...but the roast beef has been cooking in Italian Spices (and sliced wafer thin). And the best way to have it is French roll...Provolone Cheese...put the beef on the cheese so it melts and add hot gardinera (a hot ppper mix of hot peppers, celery, etc...it's more oily pickled than hot) on top. No need to dip it as the juices from the beef soak to the bread. I am so glad you can mail order this stuff. I miss Chicago too. Christian Zombie Vampires | |
